About Green Schools…

Green Schools is an awardwinning, 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization organized for Environmental Education/Literacy purposes. Green Schools creates greener and healthier learning environments through Education, Awareness, and Action!

We make The Green Difference in Schools & Communities.

Purpose: The purpose of the Green Schools Student Advisory Council is to advance the student voice with regards to Environmental Education & Literacy.

Who: Participating Green Schools Student Ambassadors in good standing in Grades 2-12 are eligible to participate in Green Schools Student Advisory Council Meetings [GSSAC].

When/Where: The Green Schools Student Advisory Council will meet bi-monthly at a regular meeting place.

Meetings will take place at Invensys, Foxboro, MA.

[Green Schools can accommodate students via conference calls/video conferencing.]

Why: Green Schools believes Students/Youth should play a key role in the decisions making process when it comes to Environmental Education in schools & communities. America’s democratic system is rooted in the belief that all citizens who are affected by the system have a voice. The GSSAC communicates student views to those who make decisions about Environmental Education & Literacy.  Green Schools also believes Schools & Communities need Students/Youth with Leadership Skills. The GSSAC provides student leadership training with 21st Century Skills and experience to fill this need.

Our GSSAC is also designed to help students acquire knowledge related to the identified STEM Fields/Majors including;

Agriculture & Natural Resources, Architecture, Biological & Bio-medical Sciences, Computer & Information Sciences, Engineering & Engineering Technology/Technicians, Health Professionals and Clinical Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Physical Sciences, and others.

Schedule: A Schedule of Events will be provided from Green Schools’ Director of Youth Programs with input from our Student Ambassador Officers and Student Advisory Council Members.

We have lots of exciting programs and policies to discuss, and we look forward to working with you!
