Green Schools Launches National Green Schools Society…NGSS at The 5th Annual Green Difference Awards

NGSS has been recognized by NEEF [National Environmental Education Foundation], NAAEE [North American Association for Environmental Education], EDN [Earth Day Network], GSNN [Green Schools National Network], KAB [Keep America Beautiful], NWF’s Eco-Schools USA, GEF [Green Education Foundation]Beyond Benign, and others connected to Environmental Education on a National Level.

The 6th Annual MA Green Schools Summit Was a Big Success!

Thanks to more than 1,100 individuals form across The Commonwealth who participated in The 6th Annual MA Green Schools Summit: STEM & Service held at Southeastern Regional School District in Easton, MA.

Event highlights included: Key Note Adresses from Lt. Governor, Timothy Murray, Chair of The Governor’s STEM Council, Dr. Ed Levitan, Founder of Visions HealthCare, Senator Jamie Eldridge, and Representative Alice Peisch, Joint Chair of Education.

Additional highlights included: 1st STEM in Education-Green Difference Award presented to Foxborough Regional Charter School, Special Presentations made by Jessica Hing [EPA], Lauren Greene [DESE], Lisa Capone [DOER], Ann McGovern [DEP], Green Schools Student Advisory Council, Manchetser Essex Green Scholars, Newton North High School’s Greengineers, Live performance by Melodeego, and Zumba led by Elite Dance Studio.

We were delighted to collaborate with numerous organizations, agencies, schools, and students who will continue to bring The Green Difference to more Schools & Communities!

Green Schools Attended The 2nd White House Women & the Environment Summit

Green Schools Executive Director recently attended the 2nd Annual White House Women & the Environment Summit.  This event was special invitation only for 100 Leading Environmental Ladies who know how to bring The Green Difference to those they serve as well as our surrounding environment.

The event featured Greeting from the White House, Tina Chen, EPA Remarks from soon to be US EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, Acting Asst. Administrator Office of Water, US EPA, Nancy Stoner, Panel Sessions and Breakout Sessions.

Green Schools attended a session on eSTEM (Environment + STEM) as we are currently working to advance this type of work in the K-12/16 space.

The 6th Annual MA Green Schools Summit: STEM & Service

The Green Schools Summit is an Environmental Education Conference for Students [Grades 5-12], Educators, and those who serve our Schools & Communities.  The Summit will be held on April 11th at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton, MA.  Our goal is to educate and empower those committed to Greening our Schools, to share best practices, and to provide projects and solutions for individuals to go back to their schools and communities and make The Green Difference!
